Attorneys, join us on July 15th at Noon:
Ethics Seminar

You need to attend this webinar if you or anyone at your firm has a client that is:

  • A Cannabis Business,
  • Considering Investing in the Cannabis Industry,
  • Offering for Lease to a Cannabis Business any real or personal property,
  • asking your firm to hold funds for a cannabis company or its principal,
  • Offering an ownership interest in a cannabis business in exchange for services, or
  • Just otherwise interested in working in or with the cannabis industry,
The State Bar Standing Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct recently issued its final Formal Opinion setting out the rules for providing advice to someone in cannabis. Specifically, it addresses a California lawyer’s obligations—and susceptibility to professional discipline—under the California Rules of Professional Conduct and the State Bar Act when providing advice and assistance with respect to conduct regulated under both state and federal law.

Omar Figueroa will advise participants on these new and very important rules and requirements in a conversation moderated by Lara DeCaro designed to provide you with practical tools for use in any cannabis-related transaction. As many people are entering into the cannabis business space it is imperative that firms recognize the potential pitfalls of doing so and the ways to (hopefully) avoid them.
